- Dota2Freaks.com is our partner site for climbing: MMR Calculator, Last Hit Calculator, Rank Percentile Checker and Taunt Finder.
- It lists all 127 heroes and 182 items, patch notes with a short take, and tournament prize money back to TI 2011.
- Dota Rankup, a free dashboard for your rank and your ranked games, is coming soon. Same team as Dota2News.
Most Dota 2 players ask the same question after a few lost games: what do I need for the next medal? Dota2Freaks is built around that question. It is the Dota 2 site of our network for ranks, MMR, heroes and items, and it is an official partner of Dota2News. We are the same small team, so read this as an honest tour, not as a neutral review.
What is Dota2Freaks?
Dota2Freaks.com is an English platform for everyone who loves Dota 2, with a focus on getting better and ranking up. It puts free tools, rank and MMR pages, hero and item data, patch notes and tournament prize money in one place.
The motto on the home page is short: Rank up in Dota 2. With data. The idea behind it is simple. When you want to climb, you normally open ten tabs: a wiki for an item, a forum post about MMR, a patch page, a calculator somewhere else. Dota2Freaks wants to answer these small questions on one site. The line at the bottom of every page says it best: less tabbing, more playing.

Which free Dota 2 tools does Dota2Freaks have?
Four tools are live: the MMR Calculator, the Last Hit Calculator, the Rank Percentile Checker and the Taunt Finder. All four are free to use.
- MMR Calculator: enter your current MMR, your goal and your win rate, and see how many games the climb could take.
- Last Hit Calculator: turns your last hits into creeps per minute and shows how many you still need for your own farming goal.
- Rank Percentile Checker: compares your medal with a dated sample of players, so you see what your rank really means.
- Taunt Finder: search Dota 2 taunts by name, hero or rarity and learn how to equip and use them.
What we like most: the calculators show their assumptions. A result like a number of games to your next medal is only as good as the win rate you type in, and the page tells you that openly. The catalogues name their sources, too.
What is Dota Rankup on Dota2Freaks?
Dota Rankup is a free dashboard for your own Dota 2 rank, your recent ranked matches and your hero stats. You sign in with Steam. It is coming soon and not open yet.
The plan is one screen for your climb: your rank medal, your latest ranked games, your win rate and how you do on each hero. No installation is needed. Your match data has to be public for it to work, so in Dota 2 you turn on the option Expose Public Match Data. The team says it is putting on the finishing touches. Until it opens, the MMR Calculator is the place to plan your next medal.
What else can you find on Dota2Freaks?
Next to the tools there are pages for every hero and item, a patch notes archive, tournament prize money, pro player setups and two practical guides.
The hero list shows all 127 heroes in one sortable table with attribute, difficulty, starting health, attack range and damage. Guides like the one for Axe add builds, spells and matchup ideas. The item list has 182 items with gold cost and the full recipe, from Divine Rapier at 5,600 gold down to the cheap parts.
Every patch page has the official changes and a short take on what they could mean for your next draft. The site marks these takes as its own view, not as measured win rates. The tournament archive follows the money: 64 tracked paid main events from 2026 and 15 completed editions of The International, with the prize pool and the share of every team. Team Spirit won the latest one, TI 2026, which had a reported prize pool of $3,906,263.
There are also eight pro player profiles, such as Topson, N0tail, Ceb and Yatoro, with roles, signature heroes and their gear. Reported gear and the site's own picks are labelled. Two guides round it off: a Support Guide with six chapters about positions 4 and 5, and a Rank Up Practice that helps you pick one habit to work on before your next game.
Who runs Dota2Freaks?
Dota2Freaks is run by the same team as Dota2News: Kevin and Claudio from Germany, as part of the GamingTools network. You can reach the team at info@gaming-tools.com, and the imprint names the person responsible.
We have played Dota for about 20 years, since the first DotA map in Warcraft III. That is why we split the work. Dota2News reports what happens in Dota 2 every day: patches, results, transfers. Dota2Freaks explains the game behind it, from the rank ladder to the price of an item. When one of our stories needs more depth, we link to the matching page there. We never copy each other's pages.
Dota2Freaks is one of three partner sites. dota2-tools.com has free timers and calculators for your games, and Dota2Arcana tracks the prices of all Dota 2 arcanas. We will introduce both in the next weeks. Questions or ideas for Dota2Freaks? Write to the team, every message gets read.
