Why we report Dota 2 news
We play a lot of Dota 2, and we kept piecing the news together from patch notes, tournament pages, team posts and a dozen threads. So we built the news site we wanted to read ourselves: one story a day, short, clear, with every source linked.
Kevin writes the news and runs the site. Windranger is our field reporter and mascot: she reacts to every story, asks around and sums it up at the end. For the full details, like complete patch breakdowns, hero stats and tournament brackets, we point you to our partner Dota2Freaks.
Editorial standards
- Every fact has a source. Numbers, results, dates and patch changes come from primary sources like Valve, Liquipedia, the teams and organizers, or reputable esports media. We link them under every story.
- Nothing invented. Quotes are real and verbatim, with a link to where they were said. Windranger's jokes and opinions are marked as hers and never mixed into the facts.
- How stories are made. We research and write with the help of automated tools, and every story is checked against its sources before it goes live. Kevin is responsible for everything we publish.
- Corrections. If we get something wrong, we fix it and update the date on the story. Spotted a mistake? Tell us.
- Independent. We are fans, not Valve. Ads and partner links are always labelled.
