  • Dark Willow: 75 picks, 73 bans and a 51% win rate
  • Bounty Hunter: 157 bans, but only 8 picks
  • Techies: 59% wins in 63 games, with 87 bans

Dark Willow is the most picked hero in recent pro games, with 75 picks. Last week Hoodwink held the top spot. This week Hoodwink is only fourth, with 65 picks. The data comes from OpenDota and covers about 190 pro games on patch 7.41f.

Patch 7.41f came out on 2026-09-15, 28 days ago. It changed 35 heroes and 18 items. The pros have had four weeks to test the changes, so the meta is now clearer.

What are picks, bans and win rates?

A pick means a team chose the hero for the game. A ban means a team blocked the hero, so nobody can play it. Win rate is the share of its games that the hero won.

157

71%

59%

Who is the most picked hero right now?

Dark Willow was picked 75 times and won 51% of her games. Teams also banned her 73 times. So she was either picked or banned 148 times, one of the highest numbers in the data.

Winter Wyvern is second with 70 picks and a 54% win rate. Rubick has 65 picks but only a 45% win rate, so he loses more than he wins. Hoodwink also has 65 picks and wins 52%. Windranger has 63 picks and 52% wins.

Which heroes do teams ban the most?

Bounty Hunter is banned the most, with 157 bans in about 190 games. Lone Druid has 103 bans, Brewmaster 97, Enigma 94 and Necrophos 90. Teams block these heroes before the game starts, so the other team cannot use them.

Techies is the hero that teams fight over the most after Bounty Hunter. He has 63 picks and 87 bans, 150 in total. He also wins 59% of his games. That is a strong number for a hero with so many picks.

Which heroes win and lose the most?

Terrorblade has the best win rate with 71%, but only in 21 games. Slark wins 64% in 28 games. Nature's Prophet wins 63% in 49 games, which is a bigger sample.

On the other side, Outworld Destroyer wins only 30% in 27 games. Storm Spirit and Lifestealer both win 38% in 24 games. The pros still play these heroes, but they lose most of the time.

Compared with last week, some heroes are rising. Dragon Knight went from 1.3% to 2.9% of all pro picks. Winter Wyvern went from 2.4% to 3.7%, and Dark Seer from 0.7% to 1.6%. Hoodwink fell from 5.3% to 3.4%. Necrophos fell from 2.9% to 1.6%, and Tiny from 2.4% to 1.1%.

Want to see how this fits into the bigger picture? Read last week's story, Hoodwink is the top pro pick with 29 picks on patch 7.41f. We will check the numbers again next week.
