  • Dota2Arcana.com ranks all 24 Dota 2 arcanas by copies sold on Steam and compares prices from five markets every day.
  • Its Arcana Index follows the 18 tradable arcanas since March 2015; every arcana has a page with price history, styles and a 3D model.
  • Guides cover release dates, the cheapest arcanas and the most expensive items. Same team as Dota2News.

An arcana is the rarest kind of cosmetic in Dota 2. It changes far more than a normal set: new models and spell effects, its own animations and often new voice lines or styles you unlock by playing. There are 24 of them, and many change hands for real money every day. Dota2Arcana follows all of them like a stock market. It is the item site of our network and an official partner of Dota2News. We are the same small team, so read this as an honest tour, not as a neutral review.

What is Dota2Arcana?

Dota2Arcana.com is the place for everyone who loves Dota 2 arcanas. It ranks all 24 arcanas, compares their prices on five markets and keeps the full price history, updated every day.

The home page reads like a small stock exchange. A price ticker runs along the top. Below it you find the Arcana Index, the biggest winners and losers of the last 30 days, the most traded arcanas of the day and the ones that are cheaper on another market than on Steam. Then comes the full ranking, as cards or as a table, with filters by hero attribute.

How does the Dota2Arcana Ranking work?

The ranking counts how many copies of each arcana sold on the Steam Community Market in the last 30 days. Arcanas that cannot be traded are placed by an estimate from how often their hero is picked, and they are marked as an estimate.

Every arcana has its own page: the Steam price, the cheapest offer on each market, the price history since 2015, the release date, the styles and how many copies were sold. A 3D model shows the arcana standing, running, attacking and casting its spells, and you can click each piece of the set to see it on the model. Manifold Paradox for Phantom Assassin, for example, came out on November 20, 2014 and has sold more than 430,000 copies on Steam since February 2015.

What is the Arcana Index?

The Arcana Index shows if arcanas get pricier or cheaper. It averages the price moves of all 18 tradable arcanas, and 100 stands for the price level of March 2015.

Its highest point so far was 123.9 on July 30, 2015, its lowest 60.7 on December 16, 2022. In early October 2026 it stood at 95.7, so arcanas cost a little less on average than in 2015. A table shows every year since then. 2022 was the worst year with a drop of 29.2%, and 2023 the best with a rise of 43.6%.

What else is on Dota2Arcana?

Guides and records: the most expensive Dota 2 items by real sales, every arcana by release date, the cheapest arcanas, how to get one, their styles and a monthly market report.

The list of the most expensive Dota 2 items counts what buyers really paid, not what sellers ask. On October 2, 2026 an Unusual Golden Baby Roshan courier led it with a sale of $3,885. The release date guide starts with the first arcana ever, Fiery Soul of the Slayer for Lina on March 7, 2013, and ends with The Resurrection of Shen for Vengeful Spirit on April 18, 2024. The busiest year was 2014 with four new arcanas.

Once a month the blog sums up the market. The report for September 2026 counted 20,356 arcanas sold on Steam, an average price rise of 1.3% and one big winner: Swine of the Sunken Galley for Techies, up 35.8%.

Who runs Dota2Arcana?

Dota2Arcana is run by the same team as Dota2News: Kevin and Claudio, two Dota 2 players from Germany, as part of the GamingTools network. You can reach the team at info@gaming-tools.com.

Kevin founded the site. He loves Dota 2, trades items himself, and his drawn face comments on the prices all over the site. Claudio works in data analysis and finance. The site's rules are written on its about page: only real market data, nothing typed in by hand, estimates marked as estimates and a source for every fact. Links to markets that pay a commission are marked as an ad, and they never change a price or a ranking.

Dota2Arcana is one of three partner sites. Dota2Freaks is the platform for ranks, MMR and heroes, and dota2-tools.com has free timers and calculators for your games. Found a wrong price or want your market in the comparison? Write to the team.
