What is the difference between prize pool and winner's prize?
The prize pool is all the prize money of a tournament together. The winner's prize is only the part for first place. The rest goes to the other places.
Example: BLAST Slam VIII had a total prize pool of $750,000. The winner gets $270,000 of it.
Who gets the money: the players or the team?
Each team splits its prize between its players and the organization behind the team. At BLAST Slam VIII, the $270,000 for the winner are split: $200,000 for the players and $70,000 for the team. Other events have their own rules.
Who has won the most prize money?
Why are TI winners at the top?
The International had the biggest prize pools in Dota 2, up to $40,018,195 at TI 2021. Players who won TI in those years earned millions, so they are still at the top of the all-time ranking.
